GENERAL PERSONALITY:
Nayru has a very gentle personality. Like a flowing river, her emotions are always steady and determined, carving their way in the world. She has a very soft heart, and is easily swayed into aiding others. She however, has always been rather unsure of herself, and often believes that someone else would be better as the water sage. Still, she knows her duties and preforms them to her best regardless of how she feels.
Nayru spends most of her days doing either what she must, or what she feels is right. This most times, is aiding others who are in need. Helping the injured and the sick, fighting to protect those that are in harms way.
Nayru also does indeed have a great love for reading many ancient texts, which means she spends most of her time away from people. This causes her to lack severely in the socialization department. She gets by well enough, but is often put into her shy shell when she is unsure of what to do.
Though she is mostly shy, Nayru does easily open up to those that she may call her friend. However, such people can be rare as she does spend most of her time reading instead of reinforcing friendships.

HISTORY:
ADOLESCENCE: When she reached thirteen, Nayru finally had the courage to venture into the village. It was however at night time, when all had gone to bed. She sat by the baker's home and smelled the wonderful breads. She visited the little pigs who were asleep in their pen. She passed by the homes and peaked in the windows, finding all to be asleep. She passed each day, watching them all, and each night she would visit the town. She protected them and did little things to help. The baker's wife became sick, and so Nayru found the herd needed to help her. The baker, as thanks to the mysterious helper, left her a loaf of fresh bread that night. Each night she did what ever was needed to help. Found lost pigs, aided the baker, helped the little lady tend her flowers.
Anything she could do to feel like a part of the village. But she was still too fearful. She had never been around people before, and so she kept her distance, and never moved any closer.
ADULTHOOD: As she aged to nineteen, she finally gained a little more courage to venture closer than she ever had. She still aided them with all she could. She would sing the children to sleep on the nights they couldn't sleep. She would still plant flowers, and find things that they needed like herbs and animals. She stayed longer and longer until eventually one of the children came outside at dawn, and heard her singing. The child found her, walking back to the forest to hide. In a panic, Nayru took off into the forest. Days passed, and there was no word. She hadn't returned. The children no longer heard her singing, the pigs escaped and she didn't help to find them. The baker's wife became ill once more, yet there were no herbs she had brought. Weeks passed, and she didn't come again. The village left many presents at the opening of the forest, asking for her to come back. But she had run back to the lake, and hadn't moved from its waters.
Months passed, and she finally gained courage to venture back. But that was when the shadows came and swallowed the world whole. She fought back against its darkness, and decided to keep the forest and its waters safe. And she she slept within the lake, and kept the light shining as bright as she could muster.
After Link saved the light and chased away the shadow, she awoke from her slumber. This time, when she returned to the village, it was dawn, and the people were all out and about. The passed each other, all doing their own thing. Until the aqua locks came into view, and they all knew it was their secret helper. Thanks to that, she found herself a home and a place within that village.

Footsteps echoed against marble walls, filling the castle with at least the life of one. Everyone was outside, preparing to watch "I Want to be Your Canary". But Garnet, she was inside, preparing for something much more important. A white cloak was clutched in her hands, a scared but determined expression clear on her angelic face. Placing the cloak beneath her bed, she left her room and headed to the balcony, where her mother was awaiting the beginning of the play.
"Oh Garnet, there you are!" She chirped in her raspy voice.
The Queen had once been beautiful, but was no longer. She was heavy set, once pale skin having turned a pale green color. Her eyes no longer held any shine and lacked any warmth. Her teeth had turned a grotesque yellow, and there was saliva dripping from her chin as she ate something strange. Once a beautiful queen, now a monster. Garnet sighed, a look of sadness on her features as she sat next to her mother. It was as though her mother had died and been replaced. This woman was a greedy and selfish being, no longer worthy of being Queen. But none could do anything to stop her, not even her own daughter.
Fireworks suddenly burst in the sky, shimmering colors of blue and red lighting the area. The queen danced with enthusiasm, waving her large fan around in the air. But Garnet wasn't watching the play begin, she was staring at something unseen as her thoughts raced much farther out than she could follow. She had to escape. It was so ironic she had decided to run away the very night she was to be kidnapped.
"Mother, I will return in a moment." She called.
Her mother nodded, waving her hand in the air. '"Yes, yes, hurry back."
Garnet disappeared into the halls, dashing to her room as quickly as her feet could carry her. Pulling her dress from her body, she replaced it with commoner clothing. She would blend in, disappear into the crowd, and then run far away from her mother. She had to make it to her Uncle Cid, he would know what to do.
Pulling the cloak around her, she began her escape. Down the halls and to the stairs and then... WHAP! Garnet stumbled back, shock apparent on her face. Chocolate hues stared at the one she had run into. It was a male of blond hair, a long tail twitching behind him. He stood, an amused expression coloring his features. He peered under her hood, attempting to get a decent look at the girl he had run into.
"You're cute. Have we met before?" He asked, voice smooth.
Garnet shook her head, taking a step away.
"Nah, I'd never forget a face this cute." He grinned, and suddenly Garnet felt a little too uncomfortable.
"I-I... I'm sorry!" And then she shoved the male out of the way and fled down the stairs.
She ran and ran, hoping, praying she wasn't followed. But when she turned to see, she found that the blond was indeed following after her. She couldn't lose him, no matter how she tried. She jumped from the tower, fell into the Tantalus, ran through its halls, and yet he remained hot on her heels. Once they had entered a small room, and he had blocked her escape, she found she lacked any other choice.
"Please, please kidnap me!"
The blond stared at her, dumb-founded. And then that grin returned to his face. "Alright Princess," and then he bowed. "I will do my best to kidnap you."
Garnet smiled softly.
Maybe at least now, she had a chance to change things.
